Back to the real world

The first of the last couple holidays are over. I’ve been off work for the last 5 days. Got to visit some family, not visit others, and got to spend a lot of time with my girls (all three of them.) Thanksgiving was fun. Pam and the girls got back from Branson the day before, so I took care of Thanksgiving dinner by ordering some stuff from a local deli. C.K. and Joey came over for some gaming. I, again, schooled them both at poker, the Texas Hold’em flavor. (We tried to get dad over for some real poker, but he was obviously too scared to try. Maybe next time Pop, if you’re reading this…) Ashley and Isabel got to catch up with their cousins Stephanie and Sideshow-Bob, er, I mean Josh.

Pam and I took Ashley to get her hair done on Sunday. We dropped her off and we took Isabel to the AMC theater nearby to catch Deck the Halls. It was slightly amusing, at least one part. I don’t think I’ve seen Danny Devito in a movie in ages. Pam couldn’t stand it and took advantage of Ashley’s quick finish on her hair to bolt out early while Isabel and I stayed to finish the task.

Today I volunteered at Isabel’s school. Helped with the morning drop off, helped in some classes and P.E. and got attacked by all the kids during recess. But it was fun.

Tomorrow’s another day at work. Yipee.

  • Your lies make me sick! (about schooling me again at poker; emphasis, of course, on again since you did school me this time.)

It was great seeing you. Wish we could have hooked up one more time though. :(

  • I wasn’t schooled because I was getting tired (as I thought you were) and just decided to “for fun” see what would happen if I called your “all in.” That’s all.

  • Tired? My bedtime is no earlier than 1AM on most nights. When poker is involved, there is no bedtime. Sucka.
