So I posted a bunch of the pictures I took the day after the tornado hit.

My company sent me to Las Vegas this past week. Got there on Tuesday and got back on Friday night.
I’m not talking about any of the meeting stuff. Just the poker I played.
The first night I got there, we had stuff planned until 9:00PM so I didn’t get to the tables until about 9:30. I signed in to play on the $1/$2 no-limit tables since there was a waiting list. It didn’t take that long though, so I sat down to play at about 10:00PM. I started with $200 and played pretty tight. It was pretty uneventful. I made a couple of moves here and there, won most, lost a few, but by the end of the 3 hours, I was up $300. That’s when I cashed out.
The next night, some of my co-workers decided to play a game in one of the suites. The problem is, we didn’t have any chips. So all ten of us went to the cashier in the casino and each got $20 worth of quarters. Long story short, my laptop bag had to be examined again at airport security on the way back because the $120 worth of quarters was blocking the view.
The last night there was again a waiting list for the $1/$2 no-limit game so I decided to sit down at the $2/$4 limit game. This game also has $1/$2 small/big blinds, but the maximum bet/raise starts at $2 pre-flop and flop, and goes up to $4 on the turn and river. I only sat down with $100 at this game, but cashed out $186 at the end of the night.
My flight didn’t leave to come back home until 5:00PM, and the last shuttle from the hotel to the airport left at 2:00PM. Since our meetings ended at 11:30, I had a couple of hours to kill. So what do you think I did? I went and sat at the $2/$4 limit table of course! I started with $100, and cashed out $160 two hours later.
Overall, it was profitable. I spent a few bucks in the slot machines killing time, and wasted $20 on the blackjack table.
I’m glad to be back though. I did splurge and upgrade my seat to first class on the way back. That was sweet.
Sorry I haven’t been posting here. If you even read this.
I’m trying to get my pet project up and running.
Yipeee!
We got our yearly Google gift. This time it was this nifty little digital picture/movie/mp3 picture frame. Check it out, suckas!

It even came with a little power converter for those times I travel overseas. Maybe they’ll send me my own jet next year so I can test it out!
The first of the last couple holidays are over. I’ve been off work for the last 5 days. Got to visit some family, not visit others, and got to spend a lot of time with my girls (all three of them.) Thanksgiving was fun. Pam and the girls got back from Branson the day before, so I took care of Thanksgiving dinner by ordering some stuff from a local deli. C.K. and Joey came over for some gaming. I, again, schooled them both at poker, the Texas Hold’em flavor. (We tried to get dad over for some real poker, but he was obviously too scared to try. Maybe next time Pop, if you’re reading this…) Ashley and Isabel got to catch up with their cousins Stephanie and Sideshow-Bob, er, I mean Josh.
Pam and I took Ashley to get her hair done on Sunday. We dropped her off and we took Isabel to the AMC theater nearby to catch Deck the Halls. It was slightly amusing, at least one part. I don’t think I’ve seen Danny Devito in a movie in ages. Pam couldn’t stand it and took advantage of Ashley’s quick finish on her hair to bolt out early while Isabel and I stayed to finish the task.
Today I volunteered at Isabel’s school. Helped with the morning drop off, helped in some classes and P.E. and got attacked by all the kids during recess. But it was fun.
Tomorrow’s another day at work. Yipee.
I’m a big Calvin and Hobbes fan. Always loved it, hated to read the last strip. Got the big boxed set. Coolio.
Stumbled on this at YouTube. Pretty funny.

Well, since I’m batting 1.000 on prayers on my blog, I’m going to try again.
Dear Supreme Being of the Universe,
I am going to buy a lottery ticket on the way home from work today. I know since you are infinitely wise, and powerful enough to answer my prayers, and apparently willing to, this should be a snap.
Can you please make all the numbers selected be the same as the numbers on my lottery ticket?
Thanks again for your help with the government!
Amen.

I keep forgetting that this blog is supposed to be about personal stuff, so I’ll throw in a little personal stuff right here.
Gatorland was on fire today.
We visited Gatorland last November when we took a trip to Disney World with the kids and most of Pam’s family. Hmm… well, actually, all of Pam’s family. At least the immediate ones.
Anyway, I read today that Gatorland was on fire. I remember that mouth. It’s supposed to look like this.
I’ve got a picture of the kids right in it, I’ll post that later. I walked through it myself. At least it was just the gift shop and they didn’t have to deal with any crocs or gators.
Just finished reading a great essay by Orson Scott Card in support of the way the War on Terror is being handled by Bush. He has some pretty strong hot sports opinions about the elections coming up too.
There are lots of good quotes in his essay, but one that I particularly agree whole heartedly with about dealing with Bush detractors:
It’s not enough to say, Bush made a mistake. You have to say, Bush deliberately did it wrong for evil purposes and he must be punished.
People don’t just want to point out a mistake, they need to somehow prove that it’s not just a mistake, but a wilfull act of evil. Just look at all the 9/11 conspiracy theories.
