My congratulations to our new President Elect, Barack Obama. Only in America could this election have happened, and it does speak to the greatness of this country. I hope you serve the country well, and that you fullfill the promise of the many great speeches you made. I hope you remember that first and foremost you serve all Americans, and those are certainly big shoes to fill. I’ve seen that onerous burden prematurely age several presidents in my lifetime, so you have my support and my best wishes for success.

Well, since I’m batting 1.000 on prayers on my blog, I’m going to try again.

Dear Supreme Being of the Universe,

I am going to buy a lottery ticket on the way home from work today. I know since you are infinitely wise, and powerful enough to answer my prayers, and apparently willing to, this should be a snap.

Can you please make all the numbersÂ selected be the same as the numbers on my lottery ticket?

Thanks again for your help with the government!

Orson Scott Card for Bush

Just finished reading a great essay by Orson Scott Card in support of the way the War on Terror is being handled by Bush. He has some pretty strong hot sports opinions about the elections coming up too.

There are lots of good quotes in his essay, but one that I particularly agree whole heartedly with about dealing with Bush detractors:

It’s not enough to say, Bush made a mistake. You have to say, Bush deliberately did it wrong for evil purposes and he must be punished.

People don’t just want to point out a mistake, they need to somehow prove that it’s not just a mistake, but a wilfull act of evil. Just look at all the 9/11 conspiracy theories.

Dear Supreme Being of the Universe,

On or about November 7th, and all the way up until the Presidential elections in 2008, will you please have the democrats take control of the government? I hear they’re going to do great things to restore the economy, fix the Iraq problem, hold corporations accountable for fraud, and not be an evil satanist organization like the BushCo. rethuglican dictatorship.

And when they do take control, please help Jon Stewart andÂ Stephen Colbert find work. They are both funny and I know they could make a living in comedy outside of aÂ wrong-wing controlled government.

And since the democrats have no bias at all, please get them to start up a real investigation into why BushCo. and his Halliburton cohorts flew those planes into the towers on 9/11. It’s clear it’s their fault and they need to be brought to justice, it’s just theÂ wingnuts squash efforts to look into this. Just visit Brave New Bookstore for all the indisputable facts.
