Started with the new company recently and I’m in training this week learning about one of the products we sell.

The instructor is pretty good. The class room is cold. I’m tired.

Looking forward to lunch in about 30 minutes.

Am I Going to San Francisco?

Yeah, I leave this Wednesday for San Francisco to go to a partner convention. I’m going with my boss and another co-worker.

We’re staying at The Fairmont hotel. Apparently it’s a really classy place. I’ll have to remember to stay classy.

I only have my camera phone with me so I’ll have to post pics with that camera until I upgrade and get a real one.

I Should Be Sleeping

What am I doing up at 1:00AM? Playing poker. What else would I be doing online? I’ve seen just about every YouTube video out there and I’ve exhausted all my options on Hulu.

I can only read so many HuffPo articles and FARK doesn’t update quick enough for me. I-Am-Bored updates too slowly as well. FailBlog is pretty funny, but again, updates are few and far between. Same with LOLCats and dogs.

So I’m pretty much left with poker. I only play for small stakes, usually sit-and-go’s and tournaments. I’m not trying to make a living playing poker, even though that would be fun, I’m just doing it to kill time. Really, it’s to have my way with time. Time is a bastard that needs to be taught a lesson.

Still no job, although I think I’ve applied for 50 since I became unemployed. Finding a job in this economy really sucks. I thought Obama was supposed to fix that? (That was just troll fodder.)

Why is this donkey raising with 10-7 off-suit and then getting mad at me when I call his stupid raise with KQ and 10 times the chips he has?

I should probably start working out again. I should start getting up early and running.

Can’t wait until Monday. Isabel’s first basketball game. That will be a great time.

I need to find and charge up my iPod.

I’ll leave everyone with this little nugget of wisdom.

My congratulations to our new President Elect, Barack Obama. Only in America could this election have happened, and it does speak to the greatness of this country. I hope you serve the country well, and that you fullfill the promise of the many great speeches you made. I hope you remember that first and foremost you serve all Americans, and those are certainly big shoes to fill. I’ve seen that onerous burden prematurely age several presidents in my lifetime, so you have my support and my best wishes for success.

Toss and Catch

Ranger, Isabel, and I went to the Dallas Dog n Disc Club fun match at Walnut Hill Park in Dallas on Saturday. This was the first Toss and Catch event Ranger and I competed in so we entered in the novice division. There were 14 other teams in there with us. This is video of our first round. Ranger only missed the first toss, but caught the rest of them that round. I think he was thrown off because the disc was different than what we normally use.

I think Ranger got hurt during the event too. When we got had a slight limp and he was licking his left paw the rest of the night.

Anyway, out of the 14 teams, we came in second place. The scoring was different than the normal way you score this event because it was just a bunch of novices. (I assume they mean the dog was novice, because most of the tossers were also entered in the intermediate and advanced divisions with different dogs.)

These were the final scores for the top three teams.

1st Place: Walt Swaggerman and Ruby round 1- 3.5,3.5,4. 5,3.5 (15) round 2-3.5,3.5,4. 5,4.5 (16) Total (31)
2nd Place:David Lester and Ranger round 1 – 2.5,3.5,4.5 (10.5) round 2- 4.5,4.5,4.5 (13.5) Total (24)
3rd Place:Debbie Swaggerman and Rascal round 1- 3.5,3.5 (7) round 2-3.5,3.5,3. 5,2.5,3.5 (16.5) Total (23.5)

We had a great time out there and hope to do it again soon!

Changed hosts. Changed the look. But nothing else changed.

Just been busy lately with all my other sites. Idea Box (sold!), Mom Job, Sunday School Crafts (oh the irony… sold!), Debate Nation, Class-Parties, Texas Lotto Club.. and a few more.

For those of you that don’t know, on February 28th of this year I weighed in at 223 pounds. As of this week, I’m 50 pounds lighter at 173. I’ve just been working out and eating right. I went from size 38 waist jeans to size 34. Feels really good. The BMI says I should be around 150 for my height and age though. That’s another 20 pounds that I’m not sure I can (or need to) lose. We’ll see I guess.
